Owlett and Jaton were originally two separate companies, with Owlett dating back to 1947, and Jaton 1969.

Owlett were suppliers to the builder’s merchant trades, and Jaton (a spin-off from James and Tatton), established as an engineer’s merchant.

In 1997, Owlett was acquired, and the following year, Jaton, too. Soon after, the two companies were merged, creating Owlett-Jaton - the UK’s and Ireland’s largest wholesale supplier to the builders and engineers merchants sector.
