It is all too easy to under-estimate the sheer scale of this chain of department stores, consisting of four branches, based in the South West, and South Wales. To give an example, one of their stores spans more than one hundred acres, boasts the largest garden centre in the region, a leisure park, a steam railway, shops, café’s, and restaurants. In 2017, a new £3 million DIY and Trade centre was introduced to the site.
It was during the DIY and Trade centre project when Owlett-Jaton was asked by the customer to implement a retail presence on a range of fasteners and fixings, which was successfully carried out. The following year, they opened their latest store. This is a £65 million venture, and the store is over twenty-three thousand square metres (or in old money, more than 5 football pitches!), offering approximately two hundred thousand products; the perimeter alone is over a mile.
Due to the success of the Owlett-Jaton retail merchandising at the DIY and Trade centre, married with the close working relationship between the two companies, Owlett-Jaton were delighted to be asked to ‘do the same again’ at their new branch. This project warranted an eighteen metre run of merchandising, which the Owlett-Jaton representatives oversaw. The range included a vast array of Unifix trade and retail bagged products, JCP Fixings in trade and retail bags and boxes, Vortex high-performance woodscrews, and a comprehensive range of nails in trade bags and 2.5Kg tubs.
Once again, it’s been measured as a success, and now another store has also had a range of Owlett-Jaton fasteners and fixings added to its already substantial product offering.
